The roots of Independence Rehab were established in 2000 as two separate therapy contracts at a small skilled nursing facility (SNF) in Orem, Utah. At the time, we were stuck in a room slightly larger than an average closet and we had five short-term rehab patients to treat. Skip forward thirteen years … .

Today, Independence Rehab has served 50 locations in the states of Washington, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Iowa, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Our reputation is spreading to other states as well where we’ve been invited to provide our particular brand of SNF rehab success.

And we've expanded our business to include owning and operating multiple successful outpatient clinics.

So what happened to that little SNF where we started twelve years ago? In concert with a great administration and nursing staff we now have 35 short-term rehab patients in that building … and the facility built us a new gym. As a 72-bed facility, that means that 49 percent of the patients are short-term rehab patients. Nowadays that little SNF is the premier rehab facility in the area with a nearly constant waiting list of patients hoping to be admitted.

Using that SNF as a proving ground we’ve developed a new model in SNF rehab. And we’ve successfully implemented that model throughout the western U.S. with dramatic results.
